Disrupt Festival rolled through St. Louis at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights last week, as the touring festival continues in the dead of summer. Disrupt Festival presented by Rockstar Energy Drink brought some of the biggest names in alt-rock music today. Andy Black, Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire, Sum 41, Circa Survive, and The Used just to name a few were some of the shows biggest highlights at the all day festival. Having only heard some of these bands/artists on the radio I was intrigued and delighted by the performances they put on for those in attendance as heavy rain fell upon the concert goers including myself. As the walk from the parking lot to the pit felt like a tsunami bath I was delighted to see the fans weren’t deterred by the weather.

Artist I had never heard of like Juliet Simms made a big impression with shades of Janice Joplin infused with the newer elements of rock music today. Trophy Eyes were a band I would always hear about but never heard a single song from and I am happy to say that I liked what I heard. A band that really brought the energy were Memphis May Fire as they hit the stage and frontman Matty Mullins brought his infectious personality and voice as the amped up crowd. Andy Black had the entire place jumping and the girls swooning for him at every glance he gave the crowd. Sum 41 as always brought that fun energy and hard pounding music they’re known for. Sleeping With Sirens, Atreyu, Circa Survive, & The Used as always brought ‘it’. These bands always had the fans in in attendance in the palm of their hands with every chord played and every catchy hook and lyric. Disrupt Festival has what it takes to become the next big summer touring festival in the United States, delivering new up and coming artists and fan favorite bands we all know and love.
