The 1975 "Give Yourself A Try" (Track Review)

The 1975 are back... with a single. The UK Alt-Rock band released their first single since the release of their sophomore album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. The band also revealed the title of the next album which won't drop until October, the name of the album is A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.

The band return with a new sound and all the thoughtful lyrics and tones that The 1975 are known for. "Give Your Self A Try" comments on topics of growing older, maturing and not realizing it in the moment. The songs chorus where Matt Healy urges to "Give Yourself a Try" is almost a plea to everyone to let yourself experience life as is.

The music itself is quite different but similar. We get a distorted and frantic guitar track that plays through out the song and never lets up. The drumming is what paces this song even with the franticness of the guitar. The song as a whole sounds great and Healy's voice really adds this angelic pitch that makes all the things he's describing pleasant even though the lyrical content is more of a concerned tone approach. Overall, the band hasn't lost a step and continue to grow as artists and keep us the listeners paying attention.
